Horndon-on-the-Hill is a small SS17 hilltop village with a proper conservation area — the medieval Bell Inn, 16th-century timber-framed houses around the green, Victorian cottages down the High Road, and modern detached homes on the outer lanes. Properties here genuinely cannot be pressure-washed; the timber framing, weatherboarding and old brickwork all need careful, low-pressure work.
