Who you’re booking with
By accepting a quote or asking us to do work, you’re entering a contract with Hewitt’s Exterior Cleaning Ltd (Company No. 16312417, registered in England & Wales), based in South Woodham Ferrers, Essex.
Quotes
- Quotes are free and given by phone, email or WhatsApp.
- A written quote is valid for 30 days from the date it was sent.
- The quote is fixed — what you’re shown is what you pay. If we get on site and find something significantly different (e.g. a roof we couldn’t see from the ground), we’ll stop, call you and re-quote before doing any extra work.
Booking and access
- A job is booked once you’ve confirmed by phone, email or WhatsApp.
- You don’t have to be home. You do need to give us reasonable access — an unlocked side gate, an outside tap if we’ll need one, and clear paths to the work area.
- If we turn up and can’t do the work because access wasn’t provided, we may charge a small call-out fee, capped at £25.
Payment
- No deposit. You pay once the job’s done and you’re happy.
- We accept bank transfer or card payment. Details are on the invoice you’ll receive by email or text.
- Payment is due within 7 days of the invoice unless we’ve agreed otherwise (regular rounds run on standing-order or post-job transfer).
Cancellation and weather
- You can cancel or reschedule any booking up to 24 hours before, no charge.
- If the weather makes a job unsafe or pointless (high wind, heavy rain, ice), we’ll move you to the next available slot at no charge.
- For regular window-cleaning rounds, you can skip a clean by replying to our reminder text the night before. No notice on the day means the clean goes ahead.
Satisfaction guarantee
If you’re not happy with the finish, tell us within 7 days of the visit. We’ll come back and put it right, free of charge. If you’re still not happy we won’t charge you for the original job.
Damage and insurance
- We’re fully insured up to £5 million in public liability cover. Proof of cover is on every written quote.
- We take before/after photos of any sensitive areas (period frames, leaded glass, fragile gutter sections).
- If you think we’ve damaged something, please tell us within 48 hours so we can come back, inspect it and put it right.
Liability
Where damage isn’t covered by our insurance for any reason, our liability is limited to the value of the job in question. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death, personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and any disputes will be heard in the English courts.
